Dumbass #52 - Submitted on 02-02-2002 by lvl3analyst
This one is good!
I have a friend that just completed their IT BS, thankfully this person as learned a lot since they first started working on pc's. This person told me that the first time they built a PC the motherboard didn't fit correctly as the pci cards would not reach the motherboard. So my friend proceeded to hack up their case so that the cards would fit, well, as it turned out, the cards would have fit perfectly had the standoffs for the motherboard been installed. This person is very good with pc's now, so I guess we all make a few mistakes in the beginning.
Thanks.

Wow, hacking up your case is a lot more work than just installing the standoffs :)
