Most computer tweaks out there like the biggest and badest for the cheapest. For $65 or less, the Asus is a fairly good product. I personally don't prefer CAV CD-ROM Drives because CLV (True X) drives keep their speed throughout the whole CD. I would much rather have a Kenwood 52x TrueX and pay the extra $20 (If it doesn't break, *AHEM*).

PROS:
Really fast when using/installing full capacity or close full CDs.
Asus name
Quick access time
Easy to install (what IDE CD-ROM Drive isn't =) )
Fair price, $65 or less

CONS:
Small CD's are just as fast on a 24x Max Drive
Lots of noise (ok, that could be a plus)

Final Score

4 out of 5 Weird Blue Faces
