I took the case temperature, the video card temperature, and the system temperature. I left the regular intake and exhaust fans in for all testing. Ambient temperature was hovering around 21ºC (about 71ºF). The temp probe was placed on the back of the Athlon for the temperature readings and the back of the video chipset for the Viper II temperature readings.

I took temperature readings after an hour of gaming with SETI@Home open in the back ground (100% CPU usage) and I also took them when the computer was just sitting with the standard Windows 98 SE background programs running (Idle).

The Card Cooler XT easily over took the 2CoolPC Plus. Sometimes by as much as 3°C. Oddly enough, the system temperature remained pretty much the same the whole time. However, the CPU and the Viper II received a considerable amount of cooling.

As far as noise is concerned, The Card Cooler XT is pretty quiet. I actually found it to be slightly quieter than the 2CoolPC Plus' high power 92mm fan. Also, if you have a small case, you might want to make sure you have more than 240mm of clearance, or you might find you're self having to get a refund.

Overall, The Card Cooler XT offers some pretty damn good cooling for $34. It gives the 2CoolPC Plus unit a run for its money. It's not the most ingenious idea in the whole world but it's effective.
