Through the interpretation of the data, I found the DC1206BM-O works exceptionally well in all categories. Although the original cooler did keep the CPU at relatively low temperatures, the DC1206BM-O lowered them to new records. Most impressive is the big difference during the load test, which lowered the temperature by 14°C. For a HSF that costs only $20 US, I am very impressed with its cooling performance. This HSF is a very efficient, productive and economic product to use.

The DC1206BM-O is a product serious overclockers should consider. The high CFM fan works hand in hand with the cutting edge Micro-Fin Technology to provide excellent cooling. However, it produces 46.5dB, which is quite noisy; a little too noisy for those who prefer a quiet environment. In contrast, one could easily remove the fan and replace it with a quieter one. Also, I feel the clip on the heatsink should be modified because it is causes a very tight mount of the heatsink on the CPU and may make some people nervous.

As mentioned before, this heatsink-fan did not come with a manual. Also, the fan stopped working after 4 months of usage. As a result, their reliability and quality are in question. Luckily, they have a 2 year gurantee, and the fan could be replaced. Overall, this is a nice HSF to consider, but definitely not for those who prefer quiet environments.

Final Score

3.5 out of 5 Weird Blue Faces
