So, is this pad a take off? Yeah, kind of and what a damn good take off too. But, you have to give HardOCP credit for taking up this project, it's kind of like re-inventing the mouse trap. Someone has to do it.

What this pad loses in originality points, it more than makes up for it just by kicking some major ass. The large size and bevel really make paying less for this pad worth it. Do I regret giving the EverGlide LAP a 5 out of 5 Editor's choice? Nope, it's still a good pad, and I would recommend it still. BUT! I would recommend this pad to more first person shooter gamers and people who play games where you have to manipulate the camera a lot, like in Homeworld. It mostly depends on your desk space (I can't emphasize that enough). If you have it, get a Ratpad. If you don't have any desk space, get a EverGlide LAP. The extra surface area on Ratpadz is great and makes paying less even better. Bigger, cheaper, enough said.
