Intel is shorting tier 2 computer companies of Pentium III 1 GHz chips. It seems as if
Intel cannot get enough of them made to supply more than the tier 1 companies. Apparently,
these tier 2 companies are not having any problems getting 1GHz chips from AMD, and AMD

ABIT announces Gentus Linux 2.0 today. ABIT reports many improvements to the operating
system. They now have improved support for ATA/66 and added support for ATA/100. The
cool part is that they added sound drivers for the Sound Blaster Live! series. I saved
their email in HTML format so that you can see it in full detail.
In the email you might notice a spot where they talk about their incorrect packaging.
They released some CDs displaying Gentus 6.2 on the cover. It's semi-ironic in that, when
I received the email this morning it say "ABIT Announces VT6X4 Motherboard."

PC Hardware Romania has a review on a very interesting motherboard, the Elite Group's
P6IWT-Me. It's interesting in that it's a microATX board and it has both a
Socket 370 and Slot 1 interface! Cool. I might add it has 3 PCI slots and 1 AMR slot and
